Your presentation must look good. Slides should be suitable for sharing on social media and sites such as Slideshare. Make your slides visually attractive and not too cluttered. 

 (Use plenty of media language and concepts in your answers) Remember the theoretical (key concepts) framework FORMS AUDIENCES INSTITUTION  REPRESENTATIONS
 
You should cover the following points:
  • Brief history and evolution of the game – do you think it has adapted to modern audiences and technologies?
  • Why do you think Minecraft is so successful? Try to give as many reasons as possible.
  • To what extent does the game suit a range different platforms (PC, games console, tablet, smartphone)?
  • Describe the Minecraft’s presence beyond the actual game: reboots, spin-offs, , merchandise, social media buzz. 
  • How have ordinary users helped the promotion and distribution of the game? What does this say about Clay Shirky’s views on digital audiences and participatory media.
  • Minecraft vs Fortnite. What do you think? Does Minecraft have a future? VR?

1) Explain how economic contexts influence film production. Refer to Disney’s The Jungle Book (2016) and The Jungle Book 1967 to support your points. (15 marks)
2) Explain how The Big Issue magazine front covers represent social, cultural and political events. (10 marks)
3)  
‘Recognisable stars are a key factor in the success of long form television dramas.’
Discuss how far you agree with this statement in relation to the set episodes of the long form television dramas you have studied.(30 marks)

In your answer you must:
  • Consider the codes and conventions of long form television drama
  • consider the cultural and economic contexts of long form television drama
  • analyse how key actors/ characters are represented in the episode using media language refer to relevant academic ideas and arguments in your analysis
  • make judgements and draw conclusions about how far you agree with the statement.
